TITLE Contract Career Technical Director/Principal
  This is a Certified Administration Position
GENERAL INFORMATION The Board seeks an experienced administrator with demonstrated success in leading career technical education programs to serve as Director of the Troy/Pike Regional Center for Technology located in Troy, Alabama. The Career Tech Center serves primarily students from rural communities. It serves three high schools with a combined enrollment of approximately 1800 students. Troy, Alabama is located in Southeast Alabama approximately 45 miles southeast of Montgomery, Alabama.
QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must have a minimum of a Master’s Degree in School Administration or related field. Education Specialist or Doctorate preferred. Alabama Class A Certificate or above in School Administration. Five years of successful administrative experience with three years of minimum experience at the high school, middle school level, or Director/Supervisor level. Previous experience as a Career Technical Education Director is preferred. Proven success as an instructional leader is required. The successful candidate must also be adept at building partnerships with post-secondary institutions, business and industry stakeholders, and various workforce development partners. Documented success in these areas preferred. Knowledge/skills in: oral and written communication, collaboration, assessment/measurement/evaluation, organization, planning, law & policy, problem solving, innovation, technology utilization & management, school operations/management, professional responsibilities, leadership of human resources, public relations and building community support.
SALARY RANGE Salary will be according to the appropriate step and rank on the approved administrative salary schedule.

Candidates must be able to recognize quality classroom instruction, be knowledgeable in educational research and committed to ensuring that best practices are being used in each classroom, confront substandard performance by classroom teachers when necessary, and celebrate excellence in teaching. In addition, be committed to data driven instruction at the student level, participate in high quality, relevant professional learning including annual book studies, and believe that all students can learn at high levels irrespective of background.
