It is a learned establishment that introduces students to broad career opportunities in the agriculture industry while teaching them practical job skills and real world knowledge. The Academy provides students with industry related courses of study and prepares them for further studies in higher education.
Program of Activities
The FFA programs and activities help members develop public speaking skills, conduct and participate in meetings, manage financial matters, strengthen problem-solving abilities and assume civic responsibility. Degrees earned at local, state and national levels recognize members' increasing accomplishments. Competitive events and awards programs in areas such as public speaking, commodity marketing and agriscience recognize students' achievements, encourage them to excel beyond the classroom and develop career skills. Community service programs help students contribute to society.

How will the Ag Academy benefit students
Pike A & T's curriculum intends to prepare students for leadership and support roles in agricultural science careers. The curriculum will be redesigned as a more dynamic agriscience curricula, focusing on two career paths; plant science and animal science, while thematically blending core science objectives in the lessons.

The Pike Agriscience and Technical Career Academy
Students must submit an application to Pike A & T Academy during spring of their sophomore year
Complete all prerequisite courses
Submit three letters of reference from school faculty
Have a 2.5 GPA
Interview with a selection committee
Maintain good discipline and attendance
