Charged Meals
It is the intent of the Pike County Board of Education to provide an opportunity for each child to eat a nutritious breakfast and lunch during the school day. It is also the policy of the Pike County Board of Education to comply with all federal program regulations pertaining to the National School Breakfast and Lunch Program. Program regulations do not allow for meal charges; therefore it is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to pay for the meals a child purchases in advance or on a daily basis.
The cashier or manager has the authority to charge two student meals. This service is designed to cover the situation of a student losing or forgetting meal money. This service does NOT provide a credit service for continuous charges and collecting for charged meals.
Only a principal is authorized to approve charges for more than one meal. This is done in only severe hardship cases and only in writing by the principal to the lunchroom manager. If a student charges meals for more than two days, he/she will be served an alternative meal until the charges are paid in full.
Method of Payment
Cash or check
*Make check payable to the school your child attends CNP.
Meal Payments
Prepayment for meals by the month, week, or year is recommended. Daily cash payment is accepted during meal service; however, students spend less time in line if meals are prepaid.
