We’re also thrilled to share a major milestone: On September 3, 2024, Pike County Schools made history by becoming the first district in the Southeastern U.S. to earn the COGNIA Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) Certification. This prestigious recognition reflects our commitment to delivering high-quality STEM education and preparing students to solve real-world problems through the Engineering Design Process. With this certification, we will continue to push the boundaries of what’s possible, ensuring our students are not only prepared for the future but leading the charge.

In addition, I’m excited to announce the expansion of our Dual Enrollment opportunities, offering students the chance to earn Associate degrees and Short-Term Certificates at no cost to them or their families. This is just one of the many ways we are making higher education accessible and affordable to all.
