Pike County Schools Announces Non-Residency Enrollment Options and Pike County Connects Programs

Posted Date: 02/18/26 (06:00 PM)

Pike County Schools has announced updated opportunities for non-resident students and expanded access to Career and Technical Education through its Pike County Connects initiative, providing families additional pathways to academic and workforce success.
The new policies outline tuition structures, application requirements, and participation options for students who live outside the district, as well as for homeschool and private school students seeking to enroll in specialized academy and CTE programs.
Under the Non-Residency Transfer policy, students in grades K–8 may apply with a one-time $50 application fee and tuition of $400 per semester or term. A CHOOSE Act application is required, and new applications must be completed following any break in attendance.
Students in grades 9–12 will not be charged direct tuition if they have attended Pike County Schools for the two previous consecutive years or achieve that status after entering ninth grade; however, CHOOSE Act applications remain required.
Pike County Schools is also highlighting Pike County Connects, which includes Career and Technical Education and academy programs for students in grades 10–12. Homeschool and private school students may participate through CHOOSE Act funding or self-pay options, pending program eligibility, with a $50 application fee and $1,000 per semester or term. Some programs may require summer participation. Pike County Schools is now an approved CHOOSE ACT vendor.
Students not enrolled in the district but wishing to enroll in the district’s “First in Flight” Academy must register with Pike County Schools for Average Daily Membership purposes, participate in state assessments, and cover flight instruction costs through self-pay and/or CHOOSE Act funding.
Additionally, students interested in dual enrollment must meet Pike County Schools’ eligibility standards as well as the admissions requirements of partnering colleges or universities.
“These opportunities reflect our commitment to providing innovative learning experiences while remaining responsible stewards of public resources,” said Dr. Mark Bazzell, Superintendent of Pike County Schools. “We encourage families to review the options available and contact us with questions about eligibility and enrollment.”
Families interested in learning more or applying are encouraged to visit the Pike County Schools website.
